Day 1-4

Tokyo

Arrive in the capital that evening for a quick meal at a local eatery. Choose from budget-friendly hotels or nice mid range hotels in the city center for easy transportation and attraction access. For a luxurious stay, opt for boutique hotels or upscale chains with great amenities. Rest up after that long flight and gear up for the exciting adventures in this vibrant city the next day… We know where to stay so that its easy for you to leave the hotel and start exploring. Depending if you want more time in the city we can customize your itinerary to stay. We usually like to break the city into sections to help you focus on your self-exploration. For example, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Meiji Shrine are all in the same district and can easily fill a full day of discovering. If your hotel is conveniently located, you can head back to relax for a few hours and then venture out to soak in the stunning city lights at night while izakaya hopping around your hotel, all within walking distance. Then my favorite experience hangover in a bullet train but hopefully not enjoy why japan is so great as you relax and watch the city fade to rice fields at 200mph.

Day 5-9

Kyoto

The Japan you dreamed of awaits—Kyoto, the ancient capital, is your next adventure. After the bustling energy of Tokyo, you will find Kyoto to be a breath of fresh air, showcasing tranquility amid its urban landscape.

Wander through temple grounds that resemble peaceful parks, each step a reminder of the city’s rich history. Marvel at the iconic Shinto shrine gates that lead you up the mountains, rewarding your efforts with breathtaking views. Feel the spirit of Musashi as you tread the same paths that once served great warriors, transporting yourself back in time to a Japan filled with stories waiting to be uncovered.

With our guidance, you'll stay in prime locations perfect for first-time visitors. We’ll share insider tips to help you navigate the crowd favorites while uncovering hidden gems that make your experience unique. Kyoto's vibrant college town atmosphere also means you can discover affordable eats and enjoy a lively drinking scene—perfect for unwinding after a day of temple hopping.

As an avid photography enthusiast, you won't want to miss walking the Philosopher's Path in the late evening. The soft glow of lanterns and serene reflections in the water create an enchanting ambiance, allowing you to capture another layer of Kyoto's beauty.

Whether you're exploring ancient shrines, savoring local flavors, or capturing stunning photographs, Kyoto promises a journey of peace and inspiration. Get ready to embrace the timeless charm of this remarkable city and see why its always best of the best.

Nara is where things truly get interesting! This small city, rich in cultural treasures, boasts amazing sights, including the iconic Nara Park, home to the friendly deer that roam freely. Though many travelers opt for a quick day trip from Kyoto, staying two nights allows you to soak in the quieter moments when the tour buses leave. As the hustle fades, you’ll discover Nara’s true charm: serene temples, traditional shops, and peaceful gardens. For an authentic dining experience reminiscent of Gion but without the hefty price tag, head to Naramachi in Nara's old town. Here, you’ll find delightful eateries serving local delicacies, all while enjoying the historic ambiance of this enchanting city. Explore, unwind, and embrace the beauty of Nara at your own pace!

Day 10-12

Nara

Day 13-14 Depart

Osaka Japan

Two weeks in Japan !!! Two weeks in Japan!!! By now, you’re probably bowing a little more and riding the subway like a pro. Flying out from Osaka Airport is the most convenient option, easily reachable from Kyoto or Nara in a few hours for your night departure.

If you decide to skip two nights in Nara, consider adding an extra night in Osaka, the ultimate shopping and food paradise with some of the most affordable prices in Japan. Not tired of castles yet? Check out Osaka Castle, or for a family-friendly option, visit the incredible aquarium or Universal Studios.

For a relaxing experience, treat yourself to a night at the W Osaka—this hotel feels straight out of a John Wick movie. After settling in, stroll to Dotonbori for some shopping for your friends and family back home while sipping on lemon sours and enjoying mouthwatering bluefin tuna.

Wake up the next day, hopefully to a late check-out, and depart for the airport that afternoon. Enjoy every moment of your adventure!

Couple Thoughts to Ponder: Your Trip, Your Way

This is your trip, and we're here to offer friendly travel options that suit your preferences. Consider the following ideas to make your itinerary fit your vision:

  1. Itinerary Flexibility: You can shorten your trip to 10 days by cutting a night in either Tokyo, Kyoto, or Nara altogether. This way, you can focus more on the places that interest you most.

  2. Reverse Itinerary: If you're feeling adventurous, think about starting your journey in Kyoto or Nara and finishing in Tokyo. This could give you a fresh perspective and allow you to wrap up your travels with the excitement of the capital city.

  3. Theme Park Fun: Interested in adding a bit of magic? Wrap up your trip in Tokyo with a visit to Disneyland. It’s a delightful way to end your Japanese adventure on a high note.

  4. Outdoor Retreat: For a serene escape, we can include an overnight onsen trip to the mountains or a seaside town. Relaxing in an onsen is truly an unforgettable experience, offering a taste of Japan's natural beauty.

This tried-and-true itinerary covers all the highlights that first-time travelers to the Land of the Rising Sun desire. Let us know how you’d like to tailor your adventure!
